The permanent guided visit service at the Teatro Pérez Galdós begins
The Teatro Pérez Galdós Canary Islands’ Foundation begins on Monday 30th March with the permanent guided visit service at the coliseum
A group of more than 40 volunteers will be in charge of showing visitors the different areas of the Teatro, not only the areas corresponding to the historical patrimony building but also the administrative building newly inaugurated in 2007. For the first time, the visitors will have access to the stage, the rehearsal areas and the changing rooms, to name but a few areas.
The visits do not require prior appointment. At the moment it is being considered to carry out three tours between the hours of 10:00 and 13:00, lasting approximately 40 minutes. It is likewise possible to carry out the tours in the afternoon, on prior appointment with the Press Office. The tickets can be purchased at the Teatro shop, costing 5 Euros per person. In the case of group visits, the price is 3 Euros per person.
The volunteers in charge of giving those tours are anxiously awaiting for this service to begin. At the current moment, there is already a large demand from many enthusiastic spectators of the Teatro, many of whom have been appointed for many years to collectives such as Amigos Canarios de la Ópera (Friends of the Opera) or the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Philharmonic Society, who wish to transmit their knowledge and anecdotes about the Teatro. Now their chance has arrived.
For over two weeks now, more than 40 volunteers, of all ages, have been in training to guarantee the visitor a dynamic and attractive service. The aim of this is so that all those who come to the Teatro leave with some basic references as regards the history, the artistic legacy and the renovation works carried out, especially the latest renovations, which allowed the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to count on a modern scenic area which can be adapted to the requirements of the current productions.
