The voluntary guides of the Teatro Pérez Galdós spread the word on all the activities of the coliseum throughout all of Gran Canaria
A talk is to be given this Wednesday 25th November at 18:00 hours by Bernardino Correa, the coordinator of the collective group, in the Casa de la Cultura (Cultural Arts Centre) of Arucas
The voluntary guides of the Teatro Pérez Galdós, in charge of accompanying the visitors round the Gran Canarian coliseum and explaining all the different aspects, aim to spread the word on the activities of the Teatro throughout Gran Canaria. As from Wednesday 25th November, the voluntary guides are to offer various talks in different areas of the Island of Gran Canaria. The first talk is to take place at 18:00 hours in the Casa de la Cultura of Arucas and the invited guests are the members of the Benito Pérez Galdós Literature Group in the north of the Island.
The coordinator of the voluntary guides of the Teatro Pérez Galdós, Bernardino Correa, and the professor, Pedro Schlueter, are to give the talk, both being great connoisseurs of the Pérez Galdós history. Juan Cambreleng, the managing director of the Teatro Pérez Galdós Canary Islands’ foundation is likewise to participate.
Under the heading Qué puede ver y escuchar en el Teatro Pérez Galdós (What can be seen and heard in the Teatro Pérez Galdós), Correa will attempt to lightly explain the programming of the Teatro, currently under the helm of the Teatro Pérez Galdós Canary Island’s Foundation, and stage to the programmed acts by different collective groups, to name but a few are the associations of Amigos Canarios de la Ópera (Canary Islands Friends of the Opera) and Amigos Canarios de la Zarzuela (Canary Islands Friends of the Zarzuela) and the Las Palmas de Gran Canary Philharmonic Society.
Correa will use visual equipment, and Schlueter will expound on the relation between the writer Benito Pérez Galdós and the Teatro bearing his name, given the special interest displayed by the public to whom this first talk is addressed.
This informative initiative comes from the collective group of the voluntary guides, and specifically from their coordinator Bernardino Correa. Ever since the guided visit service was set up last April in the Teatro Pérez Galdós, a group has been formed of approximately 30 people who have taken on the role of informing with great enthusiasm about the ins and outs of the Teatro. Most of those people are great connoisseurs of the Teatro, usual spectators who consider the Teatro to be like their own and feel the need to spread the history, the anecdotes and everything related to this emblematic building patrimony of all the Canarian people.
The guided visit service is available from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00 hours. The visits can also be carried out in the afternoon on prior appointment with the press office prensa@teatroperezgaldos.es).
