Amigos del Pérez Galdós is now a reality. In an act celebrated on 1st April, the presentation of the new creation of the Teatro Pérez Galdós Canary Islands’ Foundation took place. This act, directed by the television presenter Eloísa González, drew hundreds of loyal spectators to the Gran Canarian coliseum.
The mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and also president of the Teatro Pérez Galdós Canary Islands’ Foundation, Jerónimo Saavedra, encouraged all those present to participate in this new collective that aims to be converted into a fundamental support to sustain the new path of the Teatro Pérez Galdós.
The invited guests at the presentation of Amigos del Pérez Galdós had the pleasure of savouring a concert with two highly estimated young musicians of great renown from the Canary Islands. We are talking of no other than the Gran Canarian soprano Elisandra Melián and the Lanzarote tenor Orlando Niz. They were accompanied at the piano by Juan Francisco Parra who is likewise native of Gran Canaria.
When the act was over, all those invited were able to take delight in a fraternity meeting in the framework of a cocktail which was celebrated in the function rooms of the Teatro itself, where it was possible to see very famous faces from the Gran Canarian culture and society.
